One day, the carabao and the goat were talking to each other.
“Hello, my friend goat, would you like to grow a garden with me?” asked the carabao. “We can tend the garden together. Then we will divide the harvest. When the rainy days come, we will both have enough to eat.”
“I will be glad to grow a garden with you my friend.” Said the goat. “Nevertheless, how shall we divide the harvest?”

The carabao said, “Well, part of the crop grows above the ground and part of it grows under the ground. Which part would you like to have?”
The goat is an intelligent animal. He constantly tries to get the beast of a bargain. However, he did not know much about gardening.
The goat is an intelligent animal. He constantly tries to get the beast of a bargain. However, he did not know much about gardening.
So the carabao and the goat planted some camote together. The sun and the rain help the camote grow. Soon it was time to harvest and divide the crop.
“I will harvest all the camote that grows above the ground,” said the goat. “Oh, I have plenty of food. “I will dig out all the camote tubes under the ground,” said the carabao.
The goat ate what he could. Then he took the rest of the leaves and steam home. As the sun grew hot, the leaves dried up. The goat could eat only very little of his share. However, the carabao was very happy. He had plenty of camote tubes to eat for a long time.
“We planted the garden together,” said the goat. “But now I have no camote to eat.”
“Did you not choose the part of the cropabove the ground?” asked the carabao.
“Yes, I did,” answered the goat.
So the goat was very sad and cried. The carabao was so very happy all day long.
